Yes, i think that name is fitting for Carla because she helped the with everything in school and even things that had nothing to do with school. She never wanted to see the fail at anything the tried. My "Earth Angel" was my dad eventhough he wasn't always around he made sure to encourage me at everything i did and wanted to do.

ReplyDeleteYeah, the title so fits with carla. She's always there for them three, if they needed help with things. And sometimes with things that didn't involve with school/college. She discussed with them about their life, made them feel better, and even fed them. I think she is a Earth Angel to Sam because she helped him a lot through his hard times. And i think that's cool. Hmm, i guess my mom. She helps me with everything i need.
ReplyDeleteYes ,I believe Carla was a "Earth Angel". First because she was a nice person look a everything she did with the progarm, she put her all into the progarm to help out anybody who wanted to make something of themselves. I think for Rameck, George, and Sam she did a whole lot that she didn't have to do, she wasn't only their teacher she was a friend. She was a person they could come to with anything and she would always lead them in the right direction. I believed they liked her so much also, because they never had anybody care for them like she did and they loved the feeling of somebody caring for them. My "Earth Angle" is my mom because whenever I call on her for anything she's always there, and I don't believe she would ever lead my in the wrong direction with anything.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think the title "Earth Angel" fits Carla. Because she did so much for them that she did not have to do. Every time one of them called her she was never to busy she always helped them with their problems. My earth angel would be my Aunt because I can talk to her about anything and she always help me make the right choices in life.
ReplyDeleteshe became an earth angel to them because she looked over them and guideed and protected and persuaded them to never give up. that title fits her very well because she is the type of person to never give up on somebody even if that person is willing to give up. she keeps her head high up and gives kids advice if their in need.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do thing the title "Earth Angel" is approriate for Carla. She was always there to guide Rameck, Sam, and George. She was like their mentor. Most of the time she kept them out of trouble, and if they were in trouble she would find a way to get them out of it. Even Sam said that she changed all of their lives. My "Earth Angel" in my life is obviously my mom. Most of the time she gives me the right advice and she is always there to guide and encourage me.

Also, she went through so much time to get a book that inspired her to help the boys. My “Earth Angel” would be my dad because he would always have an opened ear and advices for me.

She wanted the boys to do very well and cared about them very much. My "Earth Angel" would be my mom. My mom helps me with anything I need help with. She loved helping people and that's why she did so much for George, Rameck, and Sam. She wasn't only a teacher to them she was a friend. She looked out for them any way she could. She always pointed them in the right direction. They could anyways go to her for anything they needed help with. Most of them never had a person like that in their life so when Ms. Carla came along she seemed like a angel to them. My Earth Angel is my mother she's always their for me and is always willing to do whatever needs to get done so I can be happy all the time.
ReplyDeleteI agree Carla is like an "Earth Angel". She is a great woman she goes out her way for the students so they can be comftorable. She always there and does what she can when a child needs help. Shes a great women and was always there top help with problems or just be open ears when someone needed to talk. She did more than her job was paying her even though she didn't have to. The Earth Abgel in my life is my mother shes always there for me, has my best interest at heart, i don't know what I would do without her. When I get older I want to be just like her.

She had steped in to offer emotional help to George when he needed it most and would help them find out other sources for scolarship loans. My mom would have to be my earth angle because she is with me every step of the way.

Carla has helped encouraged and Guided him to stay in School. She wanted him to be Successful in life because of his poor childhood. My “Earth Angel” would have to be my Mom or maybe my Whole Family. They help guide me through school so that I could get a better Education.

She also helped them with personal problems whenever they needed her she was just a call away. ReplyDeleteThe title, ''Earth Angel'', that Sam described Carla is very fitted for her title. For this reason, it is because she had been helping Rameck, Sam, and George not to be distracted by drugs, fight, and by their families. She had been the source to them to talk about anything they faced so far in their lives. I also think it suits as her title because she was a religious person. She placed the photos during Rameck, Sam, and George's graduation ceremony in her bible. I do have an ''Earth Angel'', and that is my Mom. She always want me to do good in school, and to make wise decisions.
ReplyDeleteCarla is just like an angel on Earth – an Earth Angel, “she became our angel, guiding, protecting, and pushing us as we traveled blindly from the comforts and dangers of our old world through the challenging new ones at Seton Hall” (first paragraph on Pg. 115). Carla never gave up, she was never too busy to offer help to the boys, nor did she ever turn any of them down. She was always there to help them deal with trouble and help them find their way through any struggle. My “Earth Angels” are my parents because they are always there to offer any advice if needed, and they are always encouraging.

My Earth Angel is my parents and dear friends that I have lived with all my life. They have been there through many hard times that was like a rocky road. As long as I have encouragement and inspiration from my Earth Angels I will continue to pursue my dream.

You can see that from everything that she has done she really cares about the guys and their future. There are not that many people out in this world that are like her and we should all appreciate it if someone in our lives were to be an "Earth Angel" for us. We all go through hard times and that is what life is mainly about, hard times and good times. The hard times usually come to us to make us stronger and we must all learn from our bad moments. Sometimes we have an "Earth Angel" right in our faces and never even realize it. We all have "Earth Angels" in our lives, it's just that sometimes we don't really realize it.

ReplyDeleteYes, I do believe the title, “Earth Angel,” fits Carla remarkably well. She helped all three of them, Rameck, Sam, and George into the program, she offered emotional and financial help and assistance, and she was always there to comfort and listen their problems and difficulties. She was the first person who Sam talked to about regarding the things he had placed in his “Pandora’s box” ever since he was little. When Rameck was dissatisfied with his grades, he would always complain about and talk to Carla, and she’d listen and give him advice. She also helped George emotionally when both Rameck and Sam were accepted into a new program that allowed them to enroll in a medical school a year early. My “Earth Angel” would unquestionably be my Mother. She’s always there for me, she always listen to my complications, she gives me advice, and so much more.

ReplyDeleteI do belive that the title "Earth angel" is apropriate for Carla. She helped the boys in their time of need and stood behind them every step of the way. When no one else in their lives where there for them to give them hope, she made them believe in themselves. It was probrably her that made them not want to give up. They knew that she would be very disapointed. My earth angel is my mom because she strives for the best despite the circumstances. Even when everything around her seemed to fall apart, she never let the world influence her chance of being succesful.

ReplyDeleteThis title fits Carla very well. One man made her choose the type of person she wants to be and the people she wants to help. She never lets them give up and will do anything in her power to keep them in Seton Hall. They're black boys and stereotypically in the book, they say that most of them don't even make it to college because they're already caught up in the action on the streets to even start caring about school. Carla is an angel for guiding them through something that will have a great impact on their lives. My "Earth Angel" would have to be my older brother, Tommy. Without him i wouldn't have the ablility to do anything on my own. He taught me mostly about what life is like and what to stay away from, so i could have a better future.

She never gave up on them and she took them in as if the were her very own. My Earth Angel is my grandmother because she never let's me down. I can always count on her for advice, a shoulder to lean on, oranything else. She is the best. I think we maintain a close knit relationship because we believe in one another. We feel eachother sadness, joy, nd frustration. There's not a woman in the world better than my gma.

Honestly I belive Earth Angels dont have to be one signifigant person in your life, an Earth Angel could be someone you run into at a bus stop that inspires your life for the better. Such as what Carla did for the boy's ahe boost there selfesteen, knowleged, and great addvice which was very helpful for the guy's. My Earth Angel is definately my Mother, through any thing I go through she's always there at my side supporting me and guiding me through my difficult trills. In I know I can alway's count on her, she's my rock!
ReplyDeleteYes the name "EarthAngel" is a fitting title for Carla. She accepts the boys for who they are. She never questioned what they did or wore or even the music they listen to. She was always there for them helped them in any way she could. She never wanted to see the boys quit at something without trying. She wanted them to be the best they can be. My earth angel is my Uncle. He always looks out for me. He always tells me how proud he is of me in school and my performances. He is like a hero to me.
ReplyDelete"Earth Angel" fits Carla perfectly with her personality. When the boys first met Carla, she has been helping the boys out ever since. Unlike many other counselors, carla goes beyond the limits and check on the boys as if they were her own children. Even at he worst of times, Carla still encourages the boys to do their best and not to worry about their mistakes made in the past. My "Earth Angel" is my grandmother. She encouraged me to keep pushing myself forward in schoolwork even when I feel like giving up. One time, when I was little, I would do my homework and almost fall asleep while writing. Then, my grandmother would wake me up and tell me her famous chant,"put all your effort into something, don't be afraid to get back up, get your wits together, and reach for your goal!" Ever since, she's been my "Earth Angel" when I feel like giving up.

ReplyDeleteThe term "Earth Angel" that Sam gives Carla, does fit her and the way she is. She is selfless and would give a helping hand, as well as do anything for anybody. While she attended Seton Hall with the boys, Sam, Rameck and George, she gave them advice and helped them through, by pushing them into doing well. Not does she just help the boys mentally, but she also helps them financially. Carla helps the boys as if they were her own children. She goes above and beyond to do things for them. I would have to say my family, such as my mom, dad, and brother, to be my "Earth Angel" as it's called, because they do anything for me and when there is even the smallest problem they work it out and make sense of it as best they can.

ReplyDeleteThe epithet "Earth Angel" is very appropriate for Carla. Carla was much like a guardian angel to the boys. Carla guided the future doctors through their problems, protected them from their pasts, and pushed them to exceed expectations. Carla was always available for the boys to approach with any difficulties they encountered.
