George, Sam, and Rameck
Rameck says those people like his father and uncles were good examples because they showed him and his friends wat not to do and wat not to grow up and be. Eventhough some of his friends turned out the same way Rameck didnt. I have a "few good examples" in my life like people who do drugs and are in jail for things that are their fault. I choose not to follow their examples because i see how hard it is for them and what they have to go through.
ReplyDeleteSo, Remeck is talking about how seeing what his father and is uncles acted like, as he was growing up, taught him how not to act. As Azhya said, it showed them what not to do and what they don't wont to become. Remeck also says that he sees his firend more then he ever saw his fater and his uncles.
ReplyDeleteRameck thinks his uncles set good examples because he looked up to them, and wanted to be like them.But Rameck acknowledged that they were not perfect through their whole life. Also he never really saw them much to try and follow after them but they were doing postive things with their lives and it kind of made him think, but if it didnt work out he'd find someone else. My good example is my aunt.
ReplyDeleteRameck thinks that he does not have many good examples because the men in his life who should have been role models for him weren't doing the right things or just didn't have time for him. I think that I have a lot of good examples in my life. My family always has time for me and they always encourage me to do the right thing.

ReplyDeleteRameck thinks that he doesnt have any good examples because mostly all his life he never really had a male figure to look up to. It was almost like he was on his own. Because he didnt talk to his dad or uncles or any males that much, he wasnt tought what a man should and shouldnt do. I think i have good examples because i do have a lot of females in my family who went through a lot nd are tring to teach me how to do the right thing. And no like most kids out there, my family makes the decissions for me.

He never really talked to his uncles or his own father, but instead hung with friends on the streets. I have many good examples in my life and thankfully my dad is one of them.

In Rameck life there wasn't a male, for him to look up to especially his father wan't one of them because his dad was in jail, so he raelly didnt know what a man should and shouldn't do. Rameck uncle did show him some good examples like postive things, like helping people out.
ReplyDeleteWhen Rameck talks about them few examples he's talking about people like his father and uncles. They were good example of what not to do with your life. That showed him what he didnt want to be when he grew up, how he didnt want to live or how he wanted to act. Even though he believed he didn't have alot of good examples I think what he saw in his everyday life, is what made him who he is and what made be become a doctor. Yes I have good examples such as my parents. They teach and show me everything I need to do to have and live a positive life, and how to make something of myself.
ReplyDeleteWhat Rameck means by good examples is the people or person in your life that set a positive example for you do to good and accomplish thing in life. Rameck does think he have any good examples because his uncles are really around and his father was is an heroine addict and been in and out of jail. I believe i have numerous good examples in my life for example my Uncle who taught be a lot in life.

Rameck believes that he has no good examples because he has no one to talk to. His father is in jail, uncles are doing their own thing and he doesn't even get along with his mother very well. He says that he doesn't even know who he really is because he doesn't have anyone to look up to. I have good examples in my life from friends in my class to my parents at home especially my mom, dad, and uncle.
ReplyDeleteWhen Rameck talks about his father and his uncles he learned from them, and he knows that he wants a good example in his life more then what his father and uncles ever gave to him. His mother set good examples, but in alot of ways she made it hard for Rameck to look up to her or anybody for that matter. Most of the time rameck was around the same kind of people all into the same thing that he was not into to especially with his friends and family so it was hard for him. Yes i do have good examples my friends and my family.

I for this matter do have a mother who I look up to and is always here to remind me of what's right and for my choices to always stay positive.

For example his father is in and out of jail he is addicted to heroin, and Rameck never really got to see his uncles. Rameck was always surrounded by people who all seemed alike in some way, all interested in the things that he wasnt into. I have alot of great examples, Mostly my family and some of my friends
ReplyDeleteRameck didn’t have many good examples in his life. His Father was usually in and out of jail so he wasn’t able to provide good examples for Rameck. His Father was on drugs and because of this he didn’t have a father figure to look up to in life. Rameck had good examples from his Uncles but they were usually busy so he didn’t see them often. I have a great family and they provide good examples to me throughout my life.

His father was on drugs and his uncles were not there twenty-four seven because they had their own lives. I have many good examples in my life, my parents in the most part. They teach me to do the right thing and be consistent at it. They also give me good advice and tell me to work hard so that i can be successful in life.

Also because when he thought about being a doctor he didnt see anything or anybody to make him believe it was possible. so no he didnt have any good examples. Yes, i have some good examples in my life such as my aunt going to college that motivates me to finish school and go to college so i could become someone.
ReplyDeleteRameck is very influeced by his friend and fitting in with them. Rameck is more progressive than they are but is drawn in by his friend's trouble making. So his friends aren't a good example for him, he also has no father so there's no man in his life that can guide him in the right direction. He tries to use his uncles as that role model but they aren't very good examples either. Rameck only real positive influences in his life are George and Sam they all help each other stay progressive and in the right diretion.
ReplyDeleteRemek had noone to look up to in his life. He did not have a male figure in his life his dad went to jail all he had left was his mom and his friends dad. He was always sourounded by people setting a bad example.
ReplyDeleteIn The PACT Rameck says that he only had a few good examples to follow. That he had nobody to follow so he could become his own man and discover who he would be. His father was hooked on drugs and was always going to jail, while his uncles were there but were not there. All was left was his freinds. I can say that I do have good examples, because of the people at my church and some family. Nobody around my neighborhood, because they are all like the people in the story: dealing drugs, smoking, and killing people.

He says that the most people who he saw was his friends and he wanted to be more like them at the moment. I do think have good examples in my life. My family also pushes me to do my hardest(even when I don't want to). Even my friends, they all want to be more than just a highschool graduate they want to do something more with their lives just like me. There are so many bad examples out there, and the best example for me is not to be like the high school dropout that has no job.

The reason is because his father had been influenced into a bad path by taking drugs and going to jail. The only thing was left for him was his friends. Yes, my brother because he’s a responsible and a active intelligent person.

His father was a drug addict and he was always going in and out of jail. Yes, i do have good examples from my sisters. They are in college and i want to follow there steps.
ReplyDeleteRameck has no good examples because in his life there was no one to teach him what is right and wrong.Like Rameck said "I didn't have anybody to emulate."which meant that he has nobody to admire or learn from. His father was a heroin addict who was in and out of jail. Rameck has set a bad example by stabbing a crackhead which also lead him to go to jail. My cousins, friends, and parents help me through life when I need them the most.
ReplyDeleteAccording to The PACT, Rameck felt that he didn't have any good examples mostly because his father, a heroin addict, was in and out of jail constantly and his uncles were busy with their own stuff. Rameck usually saw his friends more than his uncles anyways. He probably thought his best option was to find admirable friends with good examples to follow. Every time when he find cool friends, he would try with great effort to be like them. My good examples are my family members who are determined to complete their goals in life in order to succeed. A phrase my uncle would tell me sometimes when I accompany him is that "Your destiny depends on your determination for the future."

Also, his friends aren’t good examples either. They are headed in the wrong directions by trying to act cool. However, I think that George and Sam are great examples for Rameck. I do have good examples. One of my good examples is my dad. He finished college and persevered in his life until he got to where he wants to be after he graduated.
ReplyDeleteRameck conceived thoughts that he does not have any good examples is beause of the position he's in. His father was a person whose life was consumed by drugs and was infrequently involved in Rameck's life. His uncles, Rahman, Rasheed, and Sheldon, all were, as he said, "They were all good guys, and I saw them regularly, but not as much as I saw my friends." They were all too busy with their own lives to be anything that Rameck could look up to.
ReplyDeleteI know for a fact that I do have many "good examples" in my life to look up to such as my parents, my cousins, and even my teachers. Although with that being said, I tend to lean towards positive competition, emulating adversaries.

ReplyDeleteRameck says that he doesn't have many good examples.This could be looked at as true because he has an uncle that changed his name started over and developed a business,and one was away to college. But Rameck really only had his friends and they aren't really going in the right directions with their lives and Rameck feels like he has no identity of his own. The way I look at this situation is that an older sibling would be the best influence because the are not far from having gone through what I have to experience, but I have nothing like that.Lucky for me I have both my parents who as good to have, including as many positive family examples as possible.

In my opinion I think that's the reason why he was getting into some of the trouble that he was getting into because he didn't really have good examples in his life, or a good father figure in his life to look up to. Most of his friends were going down the wrong path, and didn't really want to do anything with their lives. The only friends that he had that wanted to make something out of themselves were Sam and George.

Rameck looked up to his uncles because they was doing the right things in life. Even though he really didn't see his uncles that much they still made a diffrence in his life. The good examples in my life is my Aunt and older cousin.

His father was a heroin addict who was in and out of jail, and his uncles were constantly busy, doing their own things, and rarely made time for Rameck. As he said, “I saw them regularly, but not as much as I saw my friends,” Rameck is constantly with his friends, they seemed like “cool” people, and he was trying hard to be like them. Every time Rameck met someone that “seemed pretty cool,” he’d try being like them, and if that didn’t work out, he would mimic someone else. Fortunately for me, I have many good examples in my life, especially my father.

So he turned to his "friends" for comfort. I, on the other hand, have many great examples to follow. I have two older sisters who are in college working towards recieving their Bachelor's Degrees, a mother who has recieved her Bachelor's and Master's degrees and is now working towards her Doctrin's. Mostly everyone in my immediate family are trying to better themselves. Lucky for me that i have these certain people to look up to and to help me fulfill my dreams.

ReplyDeleteIn this chapter, Rameck talks about his influences and examples, or lack thereof. He lacks a father figure, because his father was a heroin addict and was frequently in and out of jails. I am lucky to have very positive influences and a stable family life, unlike Rameck.
ReplyDeleteThe few good examples Rameck talks about is like his father and uncles. They showed him exactly what not to do when he got older. His dad was an addict that was in and out of jail. And Rameck knew that growing up he never wanted to be like that. His uncles weren't bad people. They were man doing good things, they just never had the time to show him how to be a man. I think i havr good examples in my life. My parents for instance are very good examples, they showed me and still is showing me how to live my life. And I wouldnt have a problem following in their foot steps when I get older.
ReplyDeleteRameck talks about his uncles doing whatever, his dad back and forth in jail, and the not so good relationship with his mom. Rameck really has no one to look up to or to be like. In my life I have plenty of good people around me, but tend to focus on the worst of people, not to look up to, but to do the exact opposite. Sometimes a bad example is the best example.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Jasmine Sistrunk, Rameck really doesn't have any one to look up to in my eyes. First of all, he uncles were busy with there lives and doing thing Rameck probably shouldn't involve himself in. Next,he has these so called friends that were negative that was disappointing to hear because friends should feed off each others good energy not the negative. Although, there were negative people there was also Amiri Baraka who could have been a positive influence.

He would try to model himself after that person and when it does not work out, he finds another. So far he does not have any “good examples” to model himself after. I, on the other hand, have many “good examples” and they would be my aunt, uncle, and dad.
ReplyDeleteWell, Rameck believes that he has very few examples, for one because his father is a heroin addict who was in and out of jail during his childhood.Secondly, he had uncles who were good guys trying to make something of themselves but, he didn;t see them as much as he saw his friends from Plainfield.Resulting in him being more influenced by his friends rather than his "good guy" uncles.Yes, there are numerous good examples that I have in my life perhaps the one that stands out the most would have to be my older brother William.

He also talked about how he had uncles but wasn't really a realiable source, because they basicalliy had thier own life. I can understand how Rameck talked about how he looked at every different cool person he apporached and said he wanted to be like them, because he didn't have a good solid example of a father fiugre. The only thing he new was his friends which really wasn't good a an example, because he had to try hard to fit in for their approval's, and if that wasn't the case he wouldv'e never pulled out his uncles nife and never got arrested. Also he wasn't thinking about the consequences which alot of kids do, but I have a few examples suchas my mother, Father, and Grandparents, but also a few bad ones.
ReplyDeleteWhen Rameck says "bad examples" he is talking about his father, and how the man wasn't always there for him and how he spent alot of his money on drugs and other things that were not very nice things for Rameck to see at that age. The "good examples" he has are Sam and George and his teachers that help him in school. I have many of "bad examples" in my life. Most of my friends are addicted to man harsh things, but i know better to not let them get to me and drag me down. Most of my other friends are fine and pure just like me.

Also, his uncles were few good example, but to Rameck they were all busy doing their own thing. He didn't have any support or good example from his old man because his Dad was a heroin addict. He ends up getting in and out of jail. The people that set me good example were my Mom, grandma, uncle, and my cousins. In my life, they show me the right from wrong, and to always be responsible for my own action.
ReplyDeleteRameck lets us know in the Book The PAck that he has a few good examples in his life Like his father and his uncle. thats not to many but knowing that there are still many people in his life that are not good examples in his life. they are drug dealers. some people that have some bad addictions and all. I have a lot of good examples in my life unfortunately Rameck dose not. Like my Parents Aunt Uncles and even friends.

Uncle Sheldon went away to Louisiana for college. So really he was with his friends on the streets most of the time.

ReplyDeleteRameck had a very meager choice of positive role models during his childhood. Although Rameck did have males role model they weren't really there for him. His father was a heroin addict and his only other source of male influence, his uncles, were always off busy doing there own things in life. I personally don't have a positive male influence in my life. What I do instead is look at the person who should be my role model and do the complete opposite. So far, it's working out great.

My mom is a good example to me because she's someone i could really look up to and glad that she's around.
ReplyDeleteRameck's father was obviously not a particularly good role model. As a heroin addict constantly in and out of jail, he is not someone anyone would look to imitate. His uncles were certainly worthy of emulation, but unfortunately, they were generally unavailable due to their own career choices. Rameck's Uncle Richard, for example, was occupied developing his business.

Also, his father was not really a good role model mainly because he was a heroin addict and he was always in jail constantly.As for myself, I do have good examples because my mother and father always set good examples for my younger siblings and I.As Cristina said, Rameck's uncle wanted to see him do better for his life so he was a good example to follow.

Most of the times, Rameck don’t have time to see him that much. Now he doesn't know what is a good example for him whenever he needs help. The people that sets me good examples are my family, friends. Whenever, I need help my family and friends would be there.
